Directing is not interrupting. It is decided beforehand: the time of the ceremony, where the portraits happen, what stays out of frame. If that is settled, the day never has to be stopped. What we call an editorial wedding is not a photo session dropped into a wedding, but a wedding designed so that light, rhythm and space work on their own.
